Introduction to Shadowing a Commercial Director
We just dropped our Shadowing a Commercial Director: Part 2 course taught by Jordan Brady that demonstrates how to take an idea and punch it up to all-new creative heights!
While guiding you through the creative process, Jordan showcases his case study from a successful Toyota spot and how to take a character from a 5 o’clock shadow to a wizard-length beard within the scope of seconds. This out-of-the-box thinking was very effective in garnering attention and selling lots of cars; and most importantly, Jordan is very proud of it.
In this lesson, Jordan Brady introduces the course and highlights how to start the process as a commercial director with a creative mindset.

Переглядів 4,9 тис.28 днів тому
Speed up your setup with the one simple trick! How often have you had to build softboxes for circumstances like lighting over a table or down hallways? You might use foam core or aluminum pieces that you cut up and end up throwing away afterward. Not very environmentally friendly, huh? Not to mention the time it takes to set up. Fortunately, there’s a better sustainable solution. DP Shane Hurlb...

Fantastic interview....MORE LIKE THIS 👌
You guys are great 👌
at 6:47, a correction!, you are not completely taking the electrics out, the 'manual focus' is technically a fly-by-wire system, the manual part is just an encoder which takes your motion and gives electrical commands to the motors on the lens elements.
why put gel on a lens, just use a filter thread adaptor, and something like a Lee filter holder system.
This is excellent! Working with Shane Hurlbut is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I hope to work with his team one day!
great beginner tutorial, right from DARK, no lens, no battery, but hope no camera men where harmed in this picture, as at 13:24 it looks like you have a missile lock on him :-/
This is amazing one of the dreams I have.
Very educative content, pls lets have an episode that talks about how to handle the politics as a DP.
Amazing content, thank you so so much
Nice video. Can you name the product & maybe a source. I've found a krylon version, but not the one you're using
Super rad
You are so wonderful🎉
Gem
This man is legendary thank you for giving us this its way better than false color
I wish he was from India
Can anyone answer this? 1. FOCUS LATITUDE is what - range of area that focuses on a subject @ physical objects 2. DOF is dependent on Focus Latitude? 3. Coming from photography background, If sensitibity is 1 to 5, we get less sharpness. if its 7 to 15 we get more sharpness. But what about T stop? how this affects the Focus Latitude?
I hear Sony's stock price falling 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Damn he didn’t show how it looks in camera. ?!
I'd love to see a version of this with some kind of snap buckle/backpack strap or something that is a bit faster then having to tie all those strings. Maybe Velcro straps.
I am not an expert in this field but i learnt something of value from your video (exposure). Thank you for sharing your valuable knowledge.
I freaking love these videos!
That is pretty cool Music has been around and movies since I was born that is pretty cool. it has evolved since I was born in the 1990s. until today.
This so could have been a 2 minute video. But thanks for sharing as very useful 🤓
You could dump the Tilta Motors for a start.. The Torq to weight ratio is a bit low by today's standard.. I know, I have three....
your frame looks amazing. how did you allow your wife's frame to look so awkward?
Love it!
🔥🔥🔥🔥
❤
I’m watching your podcast from Cali, Colombia. Thanks for sharing this especial and unique knowledge ♥️
The best explanation I've seen so far. Congratulations. Thanks
Explain how a reflector adds to an actor’s performance like you said
Would love to have seen it in action!
Very informative - there was a big effort to make this with staff and gear. I really appreciate it. Sony has always been my "go to" for gear from low end HDV(witch I loved) to XD/PXW/to the Burano. I like the familiarity with the FX line and Sony - lets move away from Alistar and move toward Katie. This resource helps with a complicated tool. On a way side note - I wish cameras were more basic, with limited features. Easier to focus on the subject matter. That's why we do this.
Great tip. Sometimes you can use bronze or copper as a bounce as well.
Kind of crazy how so many folks lack imagination and googling skills
Makes sense, it reflects warm and cool light tones together and adds dimension
And just like the darker skin tones you are talking about, we never get to see it work
It’s a short video, relax. I’m sure if you’re a professional cinematographer that will use this tip you can look it up yourself
@@maddieb.4282 wave ur rainbow flag and try and grow a backbone. It's embarrassing seeing your comments everywhere being offended by everything that moves 👌💀
Blue. Cool tones. See "Insecure" HBO series.
Show an example at the end next time, please
Great example, it was so helpful 😅
A small sample shot would have just helped so much more. But thanks anyway. This is definitely a new thing I learnt today.
Cool, but show don’t tell
This guy looks like Mark Valley. I was a huge fan of “Human Target” - crushed when it was cancelled.
Damned impressive. I didn’t realize how much skill goes into making that happen. And the director gets all the credit.
This is very cool 🫡
This seems like an amazing idea. I am only missing $27,000 of camera equipment 😔
You know even cheap cameras perform better in proper lighting, right?
